Counterfeiting costs the global automotive parts industry $12 billion a year.
- Federal Trade Commission
Counterfeiting has gone from a local nuisance to a global threat...Phony Daimler parts, from fenders to engine blocs have grabbed 30% of the market in China, Taiwan and Korea.

- Brian Duggan, a director with the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) in an article published by AutoInc, April 2007, Vol.55, no.4
